let's all hold hands and sing (showtunes of course) :)

Today was, oh how do i say, freakishly long! i don't remember the last time i stared at the clocks so many times. Then i had The miracle Worker rehearsal. It went well except for the fact that I'm having a little trouble staying in character. now I'm not busting out laughing every 5 seconds but because of all the physicality of the show and all the wrestling, there are times when I'll chuckle or smile. the seriousness of this show is, obviously, very important so when i laugh at a serious moment, it takes away from the whole show. Also, since I'm Annie Sullivan, I'm involved in pretty much all the physicality so i really can't be breaking character. So if anyone has any techniques or ways to help me stay in character, please do tell me. i would like to try anything :) So once i got home from rehearsal, which went pretty well despite my occasional chuckle during the epic breakfast fight scene, i got right to my homework. Ya, not a chance. i got on the computer, so many teenagers can relate. I checked my facebook and then i checked my broadwayspace page or "stage" rather. I think that's really clever by the way :) I really enjoy broadwayspace but sometimes it seems when people participate in the discussions that they start arguing with one another. i haven't been a member of broadwayspace for long but all the people I've met on there are really nice and I'm sure the others i haven't met are nice as well. everyone there is there for one purpose and one purpose only; to talk about their love of broadway and any theater in general. I just think that we should all be (this is about to be really tacky and corny so i advise you to turn away) friends. So i say, let's all relax, sit back and talk about some Broadway!

What a day!

So i went to school today. Blah, blah, blah, i learned stuff....blah, blah, blah, I'm a senior now (WOOH!). 'Nuff said. Anyway, i can't wait til the end of the day at 3:15 when i can go to drama class. We just recently started working on our fall play and it is The Miracle Worker. This show discusses the relationship between Helen Keller and her teacher Annie Sullivan, along with the Keller family. It is a very touching story. Anyway, I'm Annie Sullivan :D I'm pretty excited because this is my first lead role. YAY! So today we did the scene when Annie and Helen first meet. Yeah, that is not a nice first meeting. Things go well until Annie takes away Helen's doll. Helen slaps Annie, Annie forces her into a chair and sits on her, Helen tries to slap her again and misses, Helen Hits Annie with a doll therefore knocking out one of her teeth. You know, the usual fight between a student and her teacher. Unfortunately, the girl playing the other Annie (the show is double cast) wasn't there today so, Lucky me!, i got to do this for TWO hours. Well if i want to go into theater, i gotta be prepared for this, but still it was tiring. Not to mention that the girl playing Helen is a little ball of fire and stronger than she looks, quite literally knocking me down every time she swings at me. But she's a good Helen. As is the other Helen. As a matter of fact, i think everyone involved in this show is good. Small school, BIG talent. Well i have some fabulous tests coming up and if i want to graduate, and god do i want to graduate, i best get a move on. So goodbye everyone...i will talk to you soon :)

Introduction :)

Hello everyone! my name is Lauren and this is a rather exciting day for me because this is my very first blog!!! OK that's a lie, i created a blog a few days ago but i decided to delete my account and just start over so this is my new official beginning. I have to admit that Julie & Julia did provide some inspiration for me to start this blog. I thoroughly enjoyed that movie. I'm really going to try and make this blog interesting and fun and update it as often as possible. But i am merely a high school student so if i fall behind, i am so sorry. I hope people read this because i promise to make it entertaining. Unfortunately, i don't really know what to talk about but i guarantee it'll be somewhat about Broadway because i love to act! Hopefully i have grabbed the interests of some of you and please leave comments and anything else :D So goodbye my good people...i will talk to you soon :)
